Duterte: Marawi is liberated

Following the death of most wanted terrorists – Isnilon Hapilon, leader of Abu Sayyaf Group in Basilan and the appointed emir of ISIS in the Philippines, and Omar Maute, senior leader of Maute Group (MG) during intense firefight with military on October 16, President Rodrigo Duterte announced on Tuesday that Marawi was “liberated from terrorist influence.” The announcement came amid ongoing fighting between military and remaining members of ISIS-inspired MG as well some alleged foreign fighters.
